SMS Consent Policy
Effective date: March 6, 2026. PumpDocket is operated by Steady Grove LLC.
This page explains how PumpDocket customers collect and record consent before sending transactional SMS messages through the PumpDocket platform.
Who sends these messages
PumpDocket is software operated by Steady Grove LLC. SMS messages are sent on behalf of the septic, grease, or portable restroom service company using PumpDocket to manage its customer communications.
Message types covered by this policy
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- On-my-way notifications
- Quote and proposal notifications
- Invoice notices and payment reminders
- Recurring-service due notices
These are transactional service messages. They are not broad marketing blasts.
How consent is collected
PumpDocket customers are expected to obtain consent before enabling SMS for an end customer. The standard workflow is verbal consent collected during booking, dispatch setup, or recurring-service enrollment.
Office staff should ask:
Would you like to receive text messages from [Service Company Name] through PumpDocket about your service appointments, reminders, on-my-way updates, quote notifications, invoice reminders, and due-service notices? Message frequency varies by service activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
If the customer agrees, the office records the phone number and marks SMS consent inside PumpDocket with the opt-in type, timestamp, and notes describing how consent was obtained.
Opt-in types supported in PumpDocket
- Verbal
- Web Form
- Paper Form
- Via Text
- Mobile / QR Code
PumpDocket currently supports recording these consent types at the customer record level. Service companies are responsible for selecting the type that matches their actual intake workflow.
Opt-out and help
Consumers can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Consumers can reply HELP for help or contact the service company directly. Once consent is withdrawn, the service company is responsible for updating the customer record so SMS is no longer used.
Data sharing
We do not sell or share text messaging originator opt-in data or consent records with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile numbers and message content are shared only with service providers needed to deliver the requested message, such as Twilio.
